A Lily man was arrested Saturday after deputies were told he choked his 9-year-old daughter and kicked his 7-year-old, according to Laurel County Sheriff John Root.
Thomas Gifford, 31, was charged with two counts of fourth-degree assault (child abuse) when he was arrested about 9:30 p.m. by deputies Robbie Grimes and Steve Hoskins.
Grimes was told after Gifford choked the girl, he threw he into a closet at the home located seven miles south of London.
Gifford was jailed in the Laurel County Correctional Center and social services was notified.
