An unknown vehicle switching lanes on northbound I-75 Tuesday afternoon sent a tractor-trailer swerving into the median.
Tony Brogdon, of Knoxville, with Kauri Transportation, said he was on the interstate when he was nearly involved in a major traffic crash. “I was in the (outside) lane,” he said. “I was passing this one car, and it just came over into the passing lane.”
He figured the driver didn’t see him and was trying to pass another tractor-trailer.
He said he had to swerve to avoid a crash. “I got right in the median and just held it,” he said. “I was just trying not to die.”
No witnesses stopped after Brogdon ended up in the median.
Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Sgt. Mike Taylor said he doesn’t expect to file any charges in this incident. “We’re not going to be able to find anyone,” Taylor said. “He just didn’t have a good enough description.”
Taylor said there was little damage to the truck, and towing services were only needed to get the truck from the wet, muddy median.
