Obituaries


Ruth Bradford

Ruth B. Eaton Bradford, 74, formerly of Corbin, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2007 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

She is survived by her husband, Bruce Bradford of Cincinnati.

Funeral services were Tuesday at the Nurre-Mihovk-Rosenacker Funeral Home in Cincinnati, Ohio. Burial followed at the Rest Haven Memorial Park in Evendale, Ohio.

Arizona Eaton

Arizona Eaton, 82, of Corbin, was born Oct. 12, 1924 and passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at Baptist Regional Medical Center.

Affectionately known as ÒSis,Ó she immensely enjoyed her flowers and was very proud of her flower beds containing rose bushes with unusually large blooms.

Survivors include two daughters, Easter Della Lawson and Freda Kay Brandenburg; four grandchildren, James Lawson, Easter Lynn Ammon, Grace Ann Curry, and Jennifer Kay Brandenburg; three great-grandchildren, Rebecca Lynn Curry, Gaven Ammon, and Jacob Hayden Floyd; as well as many other family members and friends, all who mourn her passing.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Thursday in the Hart Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Eugene Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

The family of Arizona Eaton will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour Thursday.

Hart Funeral Home, located at 1011 Master Street in Corbin, is in charge of all arrangements.

Herbert Harris

Herbert K. Harris, 76, of Hamilton, OH, formerly of Corbin passed away Monday, April 16, 2007 at his home.

He was the husband of Evelyn Harris.

Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel 2 p.m. Friday, April 20 with burial in Millville Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, followed by a 7:30 p.m. Masonic service and Scottish Rite Ring service.

Webb Noonan Funeral Home in Hamilton is handling arrangements.

George Canada

George Wolford Canada, age 74, of Highway 204 West, Williamsburg passed away Monday, April 16, 2007 at Oak Tree Hospital in Corbin.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jim and Oshie Canada, a granddaughter Lisa Gail Canada Rains, a sister Hazel Allen and two brothers Herman and Herbert Canada.

He is survived by his wife Dora Alice Walker Canada of Williamsburg, eight children Alice Perkins and husband Bill, Ruby Adkins and husband Brian, Jo Dupier and husband Chuck all of Williamsburg, Sandra Canada of Baltimore, Mich., Danna Kerschen of London, Donna Canada, Lester Canada and wife Rita, Gary Canada and wife Kim all of Williamsburg, 12 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, three sisters Opal Meadors, Lois Prewitt, both of Williamsburg, and Josephine McKinley of Versailles

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 19, 2007 at the Jones and Son Funeral Home Chapel with Donnie Hamblin and Rev. Charles McKinley officiating. Burial will follow in the Canadatown Cemetery - Walker Addition. Friends may call after 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at the Jones and Son Funeral Home in Williamsburg.

Pallbearers will be Travis Adkins, Willie Adkins, David Canada, Randy Canada, Josh Disney, John Perkins, Eric Reeves and Todd Reeves. Honorary pallbearers will be all of his fishing friends.

The Jones and Son Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Clyde Hickey

Clyde Hickey, 83, of Lily, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2007 at the Baptist Regional Medical Center.

Clyde was a member of Park Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church, had been self-employed as a carpet installer, and was a U.S. Army veteran having served his country in WWII.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Sarah Brown Hickey; his wife, Freda Pauline Hickey; two brothers, Creyton Hickey and Clifford Hickey; and two sisters, Lorene Hickey and Irene Walker.

He is survived by his son Wayne Hickey and wife Renee of Lily; three grandchildren, Barry Hickey and wife Joyce of East Bernstadt, and Jamey Hickey and Joey Hickey of Corbin; two brothers, Thomas Clinton Hickey of Corbin and Verlin Hickey of Ohio; four great-grandchildren, Jamey Dewayne Hickey, Jessica Hickey, Jordan Hickey and Jacob Overbay.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2007 at the Park Hill Pentecostal Church with Rev. Thurston Hensley officiating. Burial will be in the Resthaven Cemetery with military graveside rites by VFW Post 1410.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.

M.A. Stewart

M.A. Stewart, 77, of Artemus, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at his residence.

He was the husband of Vinnie Hampton Stewart.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Hopper Funeral Home.

Carolyn Sears

Carolyn Marie Oakes Sears, 64, of Artemus, passed away Monday, April 16, 2007 at her residence.

She was the daughter of the late Robert Grantham and Marie Arwood Oakes.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 19, 2007 at the funeral home chapel. Interment will be 2:30 p.m. at Monte Vista Burial Park in Johnson City, Tenn.

The Sears family will receive visitors from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
