Lymuel Estle Helton aka “Pappy” and “Cuz,” age 83, of Knoxville, Tenn., formerly of Wilton, passed away Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, in Powell, Tenn.
He was born Feb. 3, 1929, in Wilton, to the late Estle and Cordie Helton. He was a Navy World War II veteran, member of West Corbin Christian Church, and former member of East Dayton Christian Church of Dayton, Ohio. He was one of the founding members of Overlook Homes and Recreation, and very active in his community with the youth. He retired from Chrysler Air-temp with 30 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Imogene Williams Helton, brother, Eugene Helton, granddaughter, Amanda Couch, daughter-in-law, Heidi Helton, and son-in-law, Ron Couch.
He is survived by two sons, Rodney Helton and wife Denise, of New Carlisle, Ohio, and Tom Helton, of Huber Heights, Ohio; two daughters, Robin Helton Couch, of Riverside, Ohio, and Debra Teeter and husband Edward, of Knoxville, Tenn.; two brothers, Reed Helton and wife Mary, of Burnside, Doyle Helton and wife Velma, of Xenia, Ohio, and brother-in-law Larry Williams of Knoxville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at O’Neil-Lawson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jason Toller officiating with burial in Locust Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday 6:30-8:30 p.m. at O’Neil-Lawson Funeral Home.
