CORBIN —
Helen Harris Rose, of Corbin, departed this life on Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, at her home. She was 74 years, 1 month and 4 days of age. She was born on Aug. 31, 1938, in Clay County, to the late John Harris and Sudie Lawson Harris. She was the assistant manager of Gibson Music Company in Corbin for many years. She was also a member of the South Park United Baptist Church in Corbin.
She is survived by her husband, Elmer Rose, retired Air Force Staff Sergeant, of Corbin; one daughter, Lisa Lynn Siler (Tim), of Rockholds; one son, Ronnie Lee Rose (Connie Rose); two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Ballew, of Corbin, and Lorene Lapan; several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Visitation was after 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darvin Wells and Rev. Steve Cole officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Young Cemetery.
