Charles Green Nantz, of Woodbine, departed this life on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at the Hope Hospice Center in Cape Coral, Florida. He was 82 years, 3 months, and 15 days of age. He was born on June 19, 1930 in Whitley County, to the late Malva Nantz. He is preceded in death by his wife, Flora Sergent Nantz. He was a member of the Corn Creek Free Church of God.
He is survived by his children, Charles Nantz Jr. (Cynthia), of North Fort Myers, Fla., Kenny Nantz (Linda), of Cape Coral, Fla., Marty Nantz (Barbara), of Punta Gorda, Fla., Patricia Miller (Otis), of Cleveland, Tenn., Rex Nantz (Vickie), of Sebring, Fla., and Joan Nantz, of Woodbine; 13 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Dale Sergent, of Woodbine; two sisters-in-law, Evelyn (Eve) Cooper, of Rockholds, and Priscilla Bryant. of the Corn Creek Community; many nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Visitation was from 5 p.m. until the funeral hour on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel.
The funeral service was at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Choe Sergent officiating. Members of the Whitley County High School Football Team will serve as Pallbearers.
Following an 11 a.m. graveside service on Monday, Oct. 8, 2012, he was laid to rest in the Sergent Family Cemetery in the Corn Creek Community.
