Ravin Whitney

Ravin L. Whitney, 30, of Keavy, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2009 as the result of a motorcycle accident.

Born in Pontiac, Michigan, he was the son of Murray Whitney and Karen Asher. He was Baptist by faith and self-employed as a computer technician.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dock and Juanita Asher and William Henry and June Whitney.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brothers, Murray Whitney, Tony Whitney, and Aaron Asher and his wife Amara and their son Avery; sisters, Karnita Williams and Mercedes Williams; daughter, Zoe Whitney; son, Keegan Whitney; special friends, Lindsey Hollin and Reese Day; and a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Harris Brewer officiating. Burial will follow in the Asher Cemetery in Manchester.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 7, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests the donations be made directly to the funeral home to help with the cost of the funeral expenses.
