Carl Wilkens speaks at Univ. of the Cumberlands
On March 26, University of the Cumberlands (UC) hosted Carl Wilkens of the World Outside My Shoes organization at its Monday Convocation. Wilkens spoke to a packed auditorium about the 1990s genocide in Rwanda, which he and his family lived through.

Knox Central Dance Team wins in ‘Just Keep Dreaming’ competition
The Knox Central High School Dance Team took first place honors in the varsity hip-hop division at the “Just Keep Dreaming” dance competition at Bourbon County High School on Saturday, Jan. 28.

Lynn Camp DECA excels at regional competition
Members of Lynn Camp’s DECA chapter were all winners at their regional competition held Jan. 25 at the University of Kentucky student center. All 29 students that competed placed in their respective categories and qualified for state competition to be held at the Galt House in Louisville, March 11-13.

Former student gives $100 each to East Bernstadt fourth graders
Principal James Meding introduced fourth graders at East Bernstadt School to “The Santa who doesn’t want to be known.” And from that Santa Claus, each fourth grade student was given a $100 bill Thursday.
