The Williamsburg Lady Yellow Jacket golf team continued their dominance in the 13th Region All “A” Tournament by capturing their fourth straight championship.
The Lady Yellow Jackets were led by medalist Becky Sharpe, who shot a school record 73. Kaylee Akins followed with an 81, while Julie Higginbotham (90), Bethany Hamblin (92) and Kacie Cox (128) also participated in the event.
Williamsburg also shot a 336, which tied the school record for an 18-hole tournament, which was set during last year’s All “A” Regional Tournament.
The tournament was held at Wasioto Wind Golf Course in Pineville, as Williamsburg hosted this year’s event. With the first place win, the Lady Yellow Jackets now advance to the 2010 All “A” State Tournament, which will be held Sept. 11 at the Arlington Golf Course in Richmond.
