LYNN CAMP — The Lynn Camp Lady Cats snapped a three-game skid Friday night with a 49-29 win over Jackson County at home.
The Lady Cats used a 16-point effort from Kayla Smith and an 11-point showing from Heather Wilson en route to the win.
Lynn Camp assistant coach Mike Hensley said the staff was pleased with the team’s effort and gave credit to what he called an improved Jackson County team.
“Jackson County has improved a lot,” Hensley said. “They are a physical team, but we rebounded and played good defense.”

Lynn Camp, Williamsburg and Whitley County had student-athletes that participated in the Class A and Class 3A State Track and Field Meets on Saturday, but none came up with any team points.

The Knox Central Lady Panther track and field team turned in a fifth place finish garnering 30 points in Friday’s Class 2A State Meet, as senior Cassi Shippy stole the show by capturing first place honors in the 100 Meter Dash (12.58) and a second place finish in the Long Jump (17-06.50).
