Corbin slips past Pulaski

The Pulaski County Lady Maroon soccer team came home for the first time this season on Thursday to host the Lady Redhounds of Corbin.

The 1-1 Lady Maroons were attempting to make first year head coach John Follman’s home debut a successful one, but to do that, Pulaski County would have to hand a 3-0 Corbin team its first loss of the young season.

While Follman was making his home debut as PC’s new soccer coach, he might as well have been auditioning to become Pulaski’s new wrestling coach on this particular night.

In short, the game got ugly at times, was highly competitive and hotly contested.

The two teams combined for five yellow cards, and when all was said and done, it was Corbin rallying from a late, 2-1 deficit by scoring two goals over the game’s final seven minutes to escape Pulaski County by the skin of its teeth with a hard-fought, 3-2, victory.
