CORBIN — By Les Dixon / Sports Editor

WILLIAMSBURG — Williamsburg junior Julia Higginbotham continued her impressive play on the links by being named the 2012 Southeast Kentucky Junior Golf Tour Player of the Year. It marks the second straight year in a row she has received the award.

“Julia has worked extremely hard on her golf game,” Williamsburg coach Bo Robinson said. “She has had a very good summer. She’s going to be a good player and she’s an outstanding young lady.

“The great thing about her is that she carries a 4.0 grade point average and we have three players on the team that has 4.0’s,” he added. “She’s continuing to improve and has a bright future ahead of her.”
