CORBIN — The Corbin Lady Redhounds recovered from a weekend loss to Rockcastle County in fine fashion Tuesday, picking up a 56-43 win over Pineville.
The victory was the ninth in the last 10 games for the Lady Redhounds, improving them to 21-8 on the season and 15-3 against 13th Region foes.
After the win, Corbin coach Jennifer Parsons said she was happy to get a win over a scrappy Pineville team.
“It was a good win for us tonight,” Parsons said. “Pineville has a good team and coach Schafer does a great job preparing them.
“They play incredibly hard and they are scrappy,” she added. “We played hard as well, but we had possessions where we struggled to score.”
Miranda Wilson led the way for the Lady Redhounds with 13 points, while Kayla Wilson added 12 and Holli Disney scored nine.
After taking a 13-10 lead at the end of the first quarter, the Lady Redhounds extended the margin to 26-18 at halftime.
Pineville trimmed the gap to 34-28 as the third quarter ended, but Corbin was able to pull away in the final eight minutes as a 22-15 fourth quarter sealed the win for the Lady Redhounds.
