CORBIN —

LEXINGTON — After turning in a fourth place finish in the 5-Star Invitational along with a sixth-place finish in the 2012 Flyer Invitational, the Corbin Redhound golf team placed 11th in the LCA/Kentucky Cup.
“We didn’t shoot as good as we did during our first two matches,” Corbin coach Brad Harris said. “I believe it was because we have played so much recently, but I expect us to get back on track.”
St. Xavier continued its hot play of late by capturing first place honors with a 292 while West Jessamine turned in a second place effort with a 297.
Ballard placed third (299), while Madison Central (305) and Ryley (306) rounded out the top five.
Corbin’s 315 turned out to be good enough for an 11th place finish, as Corbin’s Alex Davis led the way with a 76, which turned out to be good enough for 21st place. Connor Maguet placed 32nd along with teammate Cody Ellis, as each player shot a 78.
The Redhounds’ Henry Moore turned in an 83 (58th place) while Luke Cooney shot an 85 (67th place).
