ONEIDA BAPTIST — The Lynn Camp Wildcats met one of their goals Saturday by capturing their 10th win of the season with a 62-41 victory over Oneida Baptist.
The Wildcats (10-11) only had three wins last year, but have made significant progress this season.
Guard Matt Trosper turned in one of his best efforts as a Wildcat by recording a triple-double (17 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists) during the win while teammate Zach Smith scored 16 points and finished with 12 rebounds. Justin Hammonds scored 15 points while knocking down seven-of-13 shot attempts during the win.
“Win No. 10, the team has worked hard to get to this point,” Dixon said. “Our goal is to finish out the last month strong. Matt Trosper had a good effort and finished with a triple-double.
“Zach Smith was basically unstoppable in the paint and had another double-double,” he added. “Justin Hammonds hit some big shots as well.”
Lynn Camp could have won by more, but connected on only five of 16 shot attempts from the free throw-line.
“We were awful as a team from the line and have to clean that problem up,” Dixon said.
The Wildcats led 14-10 after the first quarter and 34-22 at halftime before building a commanding 49-33 edge going into the final quarter of play.
