CORBIN — The Corbin Redhound soccer team is celebrating its 20th year in style by knocking off Perry Central, 3-1, during first round action of the Sweet Sixteen.

Whitley County shines during state tournament play

LEXINGTON — The Whitley County Lady Colonel seventh grade basketball team wrapped up a sensational season by finishing runner-up this past weeknd in the KBA State Middle School Tournament.

Halcomb says Lady Colonels had ‘gratifying’ season

WHITLEY COUNTY – The Whitley County Lady Colonels finished the 2012 season by winning 10 of their last 11 matches before ending the season with a loss to South Laurel in the opening round of the 13th Region Tournament. That loss was just the fourth of the season to 13th Region opponents, all of which came at the hands of either Corbin or South Laurel.

This is the first time I can remember having both a boys and girls soccer team advance to the KHSAA Soccer State Tournament’s Elite Eight from the Tri-County.
