Williamsburg looking for win No. 9 Friday

The Williamsburg Yellow Jackets are hoping to cap off regular season play Friday with a win and if they do so, it will be the first time since 2008 they finished the regular season with a 9-1 record.

Corbin hoping to get win at home against Harlan

Both the Corbin Redhounds (4-5 overall, 2-2 against district competition) and Harlan Green Dragons (5-4, 2-1) know who their opponent will be when post-season play gets underway Nov. 2. The key this week for both teams will be to try and come away from the contest healthy as they prepare for playoff football.

The Knox Central Lady Panther track and field team turned in a fifth place finish garnering 30 points in Friday’s Class 2A State Meet, as senior Cassi Shippy stole the show by capturing first place honors in the 100 Meter Dash (12.58) and a second place finish in the Long Jump (17-06.50).
