WILLIAMSBURG — The Williamsburg Lady Yellow Jackets fell to 0-2 on the season after dropping a 51-38 decision to Monticello Friday.
The Lady Yellow Jackets fell behind 25-17 at halftime and could never recover, as Carissa Conlin led the way for Williamsburg with 15 points and three three-pointers.
“Well we played a great game,” Williamsburg coach Andrea Ellis said. “We worked our tails off defensively and offensively. We did a great job handling the pressure and played well as a team.
“The only reason we lost is because they shot the ball better than us,” she added. “They hit shots and we couldn't buy a bucket. We took good shots, was patient, did everything we needed to do, we just could not hit them. I am so proud of the hustle and effort my team gave. I just wish it would've paid off for us.”
