In U.S. Court in London Wednesday morning former Whitley Sheriff Lawrence Hodge was sentenced to a total of 15 years and six months in prison.
On May 12 he was arrested by federal marshals and had pleaded guilty to three counts in an information.
Count one charged him with conspiring to obstruct, delay and affect ... commerce ... by extortion."
On that count he was sentenced to 15 years and 6 months.
Count two charged him with using controlled substances without proper prescriptions.
He was sentenced to 15 years and 6 months.
Count three charged him with conspiring with a former clerk/bookkeeper in the sheriff's office.
He was sentenced to 15 years and 6 months.
All sentences are to be served concurrently.
