Bank closes county account containing money from former sheriff Hodge
One of three banks being sued by Whitley County Fiscal Court has closed county accounts that contained money from former sheriff Lawrence Hodge’s office.

A lawsuit has been filed on behalf of Whitley County Fiscal Court that aims to acquire more than $114,000 in accounts set up while former Whitley County sheriff Lawrence Hodge was in office, according to Whitley County Attorney Don Moses.
Doyle Fritts guilty on 4 counts
The jury in the case of brothers Doyle and Jerry Fritts returned its verdict at about 10:45 a.m. Tuesday morning. Jerry Lee Fritts was acquitted of two counts related to the distribution of oxycodone.
