Officers from the Boone Heights precinct speaks with a couple heading to vote for or against selling alcohol in Barbourville. In the Boone Heights precinct, 35 voted 'yes' and 58 voted 'no.'

  • Barbourville votes 'NO'

    In Barbourville’s wet/dry election Tuesday, a total vote of 1,075 ballots saw the “yes” voters cast 484 votes and the “no” voters 591.

    A ground search is currently underway in the Bee Creek area of Whitley County for a 63-year-old man who has been missing since yesterday, according to Woodbine Fire Department Chief Rick Fore.
    Richard "Dick" Martin hasn't been seen since he left his house about 11:30 a.m. Monday. He was riding a red Honda ATV.

    In a time of budget cuts, time constraints and tight deadlines, it is unusual to find someone who takes the time to care about kids. However, on Jan. 12, at the Capitol, Rep. Jim Stewart welcomed a group of fifth- and sixth-grade students from Corbin Intermediate School and exchange students from Hong Kong’s Taoist Ching Chung Primary School.
