Fresh fruits and veggies are a little closer to home now that the Whitley County Farmer’s Market has opened up in Williamsburg on Main Street. Open from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays, the market is located across the street from city hall at the former UK Extension Office at 428 Main Street in downtown Williamsburg. The market opened officially on July 3.
“We thought this would not only make it easier on any elderly folks who had a hard time making it out to the farmer’s market at the Goldbug Extension office on Saturdays, but it also provides opportunities for folks to stop by and pick something up after work in the middle of the week,” said Whitley County 4-H Extension Agent David Perry.
Everything from fruits and vegetables, to honey, jams, jellies and handmade craft items are available at the market.

Thank you to owners of repeater systems
When you hear people say “ham radio” or “amateur radio” what do you think of? Perhaps a licensed citizen band radio, or maybe you think about a radio the size of a window air conditioner.
