A Corbin man who attempted to retrieve money that blew out of his hand Wednesday while he was at the So-P-J Car Wash located along U.S. 25 West lost control of his car which then knocked over a gas pump at the adjacent Marathon gas station, according to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Department. The driver, Charles Jody, had his foot on his car’s brake as he tried to insert money into the car wash’s control. When he attempted to retrieve his money after it blew away, his foot slipped off the brake and he fell out of the car. Police said the gas pump automatically shut off when Jody’s car collided with it. Jody, who police said suffered cuts and abrasions, was taken to Baptist Regional Medical Center for treatment.

A thank you to Rep. Jim Stewart
In a time of budget cuts, time constraints and tight deadlines, it is unusual to find someone who takes the time to care about kids. However, on Jan. 12, at the Capitol, Rep. Jim Stewart welcomed a group of fifth- and sixth-grade students from Corbin Intermediate School and exchange students from Hong Kong’s Taoist Ching Chung Primary School.
